Position Summary

As an Electronic Design Engineer, you'll work across the full product development lifecycle, designing electronic hardware, developing embedded solutions, troubleshooting complex systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative products to market. This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with creativity, solving real engineering challenges while contributing to products enjoyed by players globally.

Whether you're refining existing designs, developing new PCB architectures, or identifying root causes within complex systems, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions that make a real impact.

Work Pattern: This role is based at our Chadderton site and requires attendance 4 days per week. Regular on-site working is essential due to the hands-on nature of electronic design and development, you'll need frequent access to prototypes, test equipment, and production hardware throughout the product lifecycle.

Please note: We’re unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

We're looking for people who are full of ideas, want to challenge the norm and work to our core values…

What You'll Do

  • Design and deliver high-quality PCB, electronic, and electromechanical solutions that meet technical, project, and business requirements.

  • Develop digital and analogue circuits, including MCUs, power regulation, communication interfaces, and LED driver systems.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, Gerbers, and engineering records.

  • Develop and debug firmware for microcontrollers and other programmable devices.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex board-level issues, providing root cause analysis and design improvement recommendations.

  • Review PCB layouts to ensure performance, manufacturability, EMC compliance, signal integrity, and reliability.

  • Support component selection, qualification, and lifecycle management, including alternatives for EOL and long lead-time parts.

  • Drive products from concept to production and beyond, using PLM systems, applying DFM principles for mass manufacture, and proactively managing component obsolescence and EOL risks.

  • Design, test, and troubleshoot interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, RS232, and RS485.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to take products from concept through validation and into production.

  • Contribute ideas that improve product performance, quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design, including MCUs, power regulation, communication interfaces, and embedded systems.

  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Altium, schematic capture, layout review, and technical documentation.

  • Experience debugging complex electronic systems, performing board-level fault analysis, and identifying root causes.

  • Familiarity with high-speed measurement techniques, EMC compliance, signal integrity, and electronic design best practices.

  • Knowledge of component selection, lifecycle management, and alternative sourcing for EOL and long lead-time components.

  • Experience designing and troubleshooting interfaces such as USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, RS232, and RS485.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
