Infrastructure Automation Specialist – Python, Ansible, F5 LTM/GTM & Network APIs

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to implement and maintain automation solutions for infrastructure certification, plant management, and infrastructure-on-demand services. The role requires hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, infrastructure APIs, F5 load balancers, networking protocols, Linux-based environments, and lab-based testing.The Infrastructure Automation Engineer will work with internal clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and design well-architected solutions. The role contributes to business objectives by improving infrastructure provisioning, certification efficiency, operational consistency, test coverage, deployment speed, and service reliability.

Software Requirements

Required Software Skills

• Python: Hands-on experience automating infrastructure installation, configuration, management, certification, and testing activities.
• Ansible: Practical experience developing and maintaining playbooks, roles, automation workflows, and infrastructure configuration processes.
• Shell scripting: Experience using shell or other scripting/programming languages to automate repetitive infrastructure tasks.
• F5 LTM and GTM: Expertise in configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and API-based integration.
• F5 TMSH, iControl, and iRules: Practical experience using these capabilities for configuration, automation, service management, and integration.
• Networking technologies: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, HTTP, SSL, and networking concepts across all relevant layers.
• Linux command line: Comfort working in Linux-based environments for configuration, troubleshooting, automation, testing, and operational support.
• Infrastructure APIs: Experience extending and integrating APIs to provide infrastructure-on-demand capabilities.
• Lab-based testing: Experience performing and automating testing for new hardware and software certification.
• Software versions: Experience working with the Python, Ansible, Linux, F5, networking, API, automation, and testing tool versions used by the assigned Synechron project. Ability to assess compatibility and upgrade considerations is required.

• Implement automation for certification and plant management using Python and Ansible.

• Expertise with F5 LTM and GTM load-balancer configuration and APIs, including TMSH, iControl, and iRules.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop and maintain Python and Ansible automation for infrastructure certification, plant management, installation, configuration, provisioning, and infrastructure-on-demand services.
• Configure and troubleshoot F5 LTM and GTM environments, use TMSH, iControl, and iRules, and collaborate with network, infrastructure, software, testing, and operations teams.
• Perform and automate lab-based hardware and software certification tests, review results, investigate failures, and document technical findings and delivery status.
• Engage with internal clients and stakeholders to clarify requirements, recommend solution designs, prioritize work, and make technical decisions within the agreed architecture and governance boundaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Networking, or a related field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
• Recognized industry certification from F5, Cisco, or another relevant technology vendor is preferred but not mandatory.
• Relevant training in Python, Ansible, Linux, networking, F5 technologies, API integration, automation, testing, cloud, virtualization, or containerization is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure automation, network automation, infrastructure certification, API integration, or lab-based testing solutions is required.
• Commitment to continuous professional development through technical training, hands-on learning, certification maintenance, knowledge sharing, and awareness of evolving infrastructure technologies.
