The Role
The Operations Support Supervisor I will lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery. This role will supervise up to 25 hourly employees across assembly, testing, painting, crating, and warehousing while driving continuous improvement and fostering a strong team culture.
What You'll Do:
- Supervise daily production activities, allocate resources, and ensure production schedules are met.
- Promote a safe work environment through safety leadership, audits, and compliance with established procedures.
- Monitor operational performance, quality metrics, and productivity goals.
- Lead and develop employees through coaching, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Materials teams to resolve production challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, kaizen, and 5S activities.
- Ensure adherence to standard work, quality procedures, and operational processes.
- Support workforce planning, scheduling, and departmental performance objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of applicable experience, including 2+ years of leadership experience; or High School Diploma and 8+ years of applicable experience, including 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Manufacturing, production, operations, or industrial supervision experience.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and build a culture of accountability.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience driving safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or similar ERP systems
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with production reporting, data analysis, and operational metrics.
The estimated salary range for this position is $85k to $90k base plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
