What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced CEI Senior Roadway Inspector for current and future FDOT construction work in North Florida. FDOT Asphalt, Concrete and Earthwork experience is a must. HNTB is looking to grow our local CEI inspection team. This position will be based in either Green Cove Springs/Jacksonville or Gainesville and surrounding areas.

What You'll Do:

• Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents, and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform complicated mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements

What We Prefer:

• At least 4 years of verifiable FDOT CEI experience in roadway construction.
• This position is ideally suited for local candidates in the area above due to the nature of the work.
• FDOT certifications (CTQP Asphalt I &II, CTQP Earthwork I & II, ACI Concrete Field Technician, CTQP Concrete Technician Level 2, CTQP Drilled Shaft, CTQP Final Estimates I & II, Advanced MOT)
• Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
• Ability to work with others, take direction, and communicate verbally and in writing.
• Willingness to learn and also train others.
• Knowledge of FDOT Electronic Earthwork Records System (ERS)
• Working knowledge and ability to enter samples in FDOT’s Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC).
